Gate admission is the fee to walk onto the fairgrounds. Food, games and midway wristbands cost extra inside, so gate admission is the first cost a visitor decides on. Of the 96 events, 36 are free at the gate and the other 60 charge admission or have no known price. A free-admission fair can still charge for parking and sell rides by ticket, so free at the gate does not mean free to attend.
