A demolition derby, sometimes shortened to demo derby, is a grandstand event in which drivers crash a field of cars into one another until a single car is still running under its own power. It belongs to a fair's entertainment program and has no roots in farm work, unlike pulling or harness racing. In Massachusetts, Marshfield Fair, Spencer Fair, Franklin County Fair and the Barnstable County Fair had one.
